Five Wines with Cellar Tour
A guided tour of the winery, among the large oak casks, that goes into the details of production and is designed for professionals and enthusiasts alike; it is followed by a tasting of five wines including CESARE Gattinara Riserva DOCG. The complete experience, about an hour and a half.
Why we lead every tasting ourselves
We chose to lead every tasting ourselves, rather than hand it to an outside sommelier: telling the story of a wine to the people who will drink it is the satisfaction that repays years of work in the vineyard and the cellar. It is on this direct relationship with the people who choose our wines that Andrea wants the winery to grow. The tasting also brings wines that are rarely found elsewhere, such as Continuo, our red wine aged in amphora.

- Tastings are held in Italian and English, and you taste directly with the people who make the wine: Andrea or Emanuele.
- When
- Tastings are scheduled every day, Sundays included, in the morning and late afternoon: available times are shown in the booking calendar.
- Duration
- A tasting lasts about an hour; with the cellar tour the complete experience takes about an hour and a half, tasting included.
- Group size
- Online bookings are for one to eight people, and the guided tour starts from three: for two people, the five wine tasting is the right choice. For larger groups, we arrange everything together by phone.
- The board
- On request, when you book, we serve the tasting with a small board of local cured meats and cheeses, depending on availability: €4 per person.
- Where
- Corso Valsesia 162, in the centre of Gattinara, in the same building as the rooms of Il Cortile.
- How to book
- Tastings are booked online only, by choosing a format above, and confirmation arrives immediately by email; the exception is groups of more than eight people, which we arrange by phone. For any information before booking you can call us on +39 0163 827172.
Sleep in the winery courtyard
The rooms of Il Cortile are in the same building as the winery, inside the 1862 distillery: you taste, walk up to your room, and in the morning breakfast is waiting in the Tinaia. Direct rate, no intermediaries.
