From the lakes

From Lakes Maggiore and Orta to our vineyards

Gattinara lies on the first hills south of the lakes: Orta San Giulio and Arona are about half an hour away by road, Stresa about fifty minutes. At our winery, at Corso Valsesia 162, we taste Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo with you every day, in the morning and late afternoon, in Italian and English: there are three formats, from €20 to €40 per person, and they are booked online.

The lakes, in the wine too

Between the lakes and Monte Rosa, Nebbiolo finds a rare balance: Monte Rosa acts as a natural barrier against the most intense cold currents, and the proximity of lakes Maggiore and Orta softens the extremes of the climate.

On these hills of volcanic origin, between 300 and 425 metres, our Gattinara wines ripen: wines of clear minerality, which ask for years in large casks and can evolve for decades.

Isola Bella, Borromean Islands, Lake Maggiore

Half a day from the lake

Tastings are scheduled in the morning and late afternoon, and combine well with a day on the lake: the morning on the Isola di San Giulio or among the Borromean Islands and the late afternoon with us, or the morning tasting and the afternoon back on the water.

A tasting lasts about an hour, an hour and a half with the cellar tour, and the bottles you enjoyed can be bought directly at the winery.

The three tastings

Choose your format, check the available dates and book online: confirmation arrives immediately by email.

Sleep in the winery courtyard

The rooms of Il Cortile are in the same building as the winery, inside the 1862 distillery: you taste, walk up to your room, and in the morning breakfast is waiting in the Tinaia. Direct rate, no intermediaries.
